Moon Rising

Hi....It's me Annie Grace.....

I have been checking out her pictures and if I ask her about them they usually result in a very long and boring story.....here is one...with a moral she said. So....she is on a "family vacation" (which means she invited herself on her brothers family vacation...frequently) in Arizona. It's their last night and the plan is to go to the top of a mountain where everyone goes to watch the sun set. They have a lovely dinner....she had a wonderful martini, Danny ate fried cactus (I think he had one bite and graciously spit it into his napkin)....meanwhile Deb (The brother's wife....who we call The Pigeon...you know.....JFK's wife...June) is starting to panic...."move along everyone..." so The Family (Scott, The lady and the kids slowly make their way....none of them really have any idea where to go without The Pigeon to the car while The Pigeon makes sure the bill is paid and no one left anything behind). They have no idea where they parked at first until The Pigeon cooooos ......where they are parked Driving up the road it was amazing how many people were coming down....strange........
Giddy with excitement...this is it! At the top there are lots of people getting INTO their cars...where are they going?? Why are they not going to watch the sun set?

Because it had just set.....yup they caught the last glimpse. No pictures...no enchanting moment. Then...as they all stare.... trying to imagine that they really saw a little of a sun set...someone says "turn around and look at the moon rising......so doing a 180...and there it is! The moon rising as fast as the sun set and all those people who were hurrying down the mountain because they already saw the sun set never saw the moon.
The moral is....If you savor the last bit of your martini.....not remember where you parked your car and slow down a little....you will see the moon rising. I asked the lady if that really was a moral. She said Yes!

A lovely story - and as I read through it, I realized that I may have more nicknames than anyone else on this blog. I take great pride in that.
