My time vs human time

Hi.....it's me....Annie Grace,
This morning started out in a normal fashion which means I awoke fresh and perky at 5:15 AM ready to conquer the world for about and hour or so before returning back to my post morning Sheba pre-breakfast nap.
In my most affectionate way......I woke Mommy Dearest. A nip on the arm.....about 31 times. She hides her limbs under the covers, I now go for the shoulder (NEVER EVER the face......serious ramifications would result...like my death) and next I feign serious interest in sticking my paw under the covers to see if that truly is where the limbs are. Delightful! They are indeed under the covers and I now make going under the covers without my head an art form. First one paw, then the nose, my shoulder, paw #2 next and lastly I swat at the covers.

"Annie Grace! what are you doing?"

What am I doing? Getting you up so I can have nourishment.

"Annie....it's 5:17 AM and it's too early."

Human time has no conceptual influence for me. Get up.

I skulk up and peer into her face. Concentrating on her nose. To bite or not to bite. Next.....she blows on my face. I am aghast. As I pull my body into a fighting position and open my eyes very wide in mock horror. She just blew in my face! This is either a sign of either a revolt or control and neither is acceptable to me.

I now go to the other side of the bed and contemplate this rather bold maneuver of blowing on my face. With visions of a CSI agent running rampant through my head I swiftly make one more attempt of limb attack. She blows on my face again. I retreat.....with three letters running through my head....M A D. I lay down to contemplate and watch the clock.....5:31, 5:55, 6:01, 6:12, and finally 6:37. Times up Mommy Dearest. How could you possibly resist this face???

I am unsure what to make of this shift on control but am contemplating throwing up tomorrow morning at 5:15 AM. Where do I stand? Am I not her offspring to be cherished? As I receive my appointed 1 minuscule tablespoon of Sheba and daintily inhale it......I am scared. I continue my morning ritual of news update. (yes......I read!) I am ordered to use the computer as my issues with paper involve chewing and one can not chew and read at the same time. I scan the news and gasp.

Yes.....we are very dramatic here and a gasp just helps increase the drama level.

Yet another robbery, at a liquor store......with a machete. A machete wheeling robber??? A machete??? Are we so economically challenged that even the thieves can not afford a proper weapon? Please someone help them out. If you can not afford a gun I would advise leaving the industry. Proper attire for a robbery always includes a mask, gun and unbranded clothing. One does not wear a Patriots sweatshirt, bandanna on the head and a machete. I am suspect that the criminal mind has also decreased. Do they not pay attention at robbery school??? A liquor store is also a poor choice of attack. Next time they should go to a hair salon.....these days it's cash preferred (No record of the transaction for ones husband to see how MUCH is really spent for our constant grooming).

As I think about all of these pathetic portrayals of a criminal......I also contemplate my hierarchy in this household. How...oh how....could someone blow on my face and how could one rob with a machete?

These boots were made for walking

Hi.......it's me....Annie Grace,
This is my resting spot # 83. Under the table. From this vantage point a multitude of things can occur.
1. I am in the way from her (Mommy Dearest) sitting down in HER chair and therefor she must move to another chair dragging all the tasks she has thrown on the table to accomplish with her.
2. I can pretend I am suddenly sooooo interested in one of the 41 scarfs she leaves draped over the chair which makes her take interest in me thinking that she has neglected me and my "playtime".
3. I can lay on the floor sprawled out and look at her with a longing look that she interprets as happiness. It is not. The longing look is my meditation of mentally transporting myself to Poland.
4. I stare at her shoes wondering if the leather is worth scratching.
5. When she moves just a little.....I quickly jump up with a stunned look, draw in my whiskers and this usually follows with "Oh Annie.....I am so sorry! Did I disturb you? Do you want a treat? Mission accomplished....treats on the floor instantly.
As I lay here thinking of all the things I could do...her boots catch my eye. Those heels....ghastly indeed. I read the soles. VIA SPIGA. Are those new???? I ask.
"Yes Annie.....they are. I HAD to get them for work. Don't you just love them? They are tax deductible under uniforms."
How is a 4 inch heeled boot tax deductible? The UGG"S.....maybe.
"Well Annie....I wear them most days that there is no snow on the walkways" she tells me while Googling George Clooney to see where he is.
"Matter of fact......I just came from a wake and some one liked them" she continues to drone on.
Really??? A wake you say.....Do you realize the price tag sticker is still on the bottom? Is it possible that you embarrassed our whole family and knelt at a wake for everyone to see? Is it possible that the ENTIRE room at the wake now knows you have new boots? As she gasps (usually it is I that gasps in horror) and lifts up the foot ......a true look of horror comes over her face which I just stare at her and then slowly.......ever so slowly.....leave the room in disgust.

Rule # 1 before going to a wake.....CHECK YOUR SOLES!

I am now heading off to the abyss of her closet to inspect all the shoes before settling down on the old boots which I suspect will now be a gift to me in which I will have a new scratching leather item. Surely anyone would now donate their old shoes to me after my perceptive detective work. I am hesitant to enter the abyss of a closet as I was locked in yesterday "by mistake" and have not completely recovered from the imprisonment. PLEASE.......check where I am before exiting this prison!
Check where I am
Check your soles

What to do during a snowstorm

Hi....It's me.......Annie Grace....
The boredom has set in for me this month of February and I have very little excitement. Drinking from the Christmas Tree stand has become a distant memory, the windows are still closed which really makes sitting at the window.....boring. I can't hear anyone pulling into the driveway so my greeting skills have declined, sometimes I greet and sometimes I just sleep through it as what's the point to say hello if they are already here. I have tried watching The Olympics with Mommy Dearest but apparently my taking up the entire side of the couch is not acceptable.
"Oh Annie.....why are you able to take up half the couch when you are sleeping as this couch is made for 4 people?" she asks while applying yet more Nail Grow Fast quite certain that overnight she will have perfectly strong and long nails.

Why can I take up half the couch???? Because I can. It is a class at school called Sleeping Positions #101. If I get up here first and claim a position which suits me perfectly for a 3 1/2 hour slumber WHY should I move for you?

"All right Annie....but if I get here first tomorrow I get the whole couch" she tells me. Good luck with that Mommy Dearest! As the snow rolls into town I hear the flurry of snow and of conspiring going on. What time to walk down to The Tavern. It is one of the perks about buying a house within walking distance to a bar I have been told. I am suspect that this increases your house value by 2 1/2 percent especially as we are still in a declining market but I suppose in a recession the ability to NOT drive your car 1/2 mile to a tavern would be appealing. As the sun sets, the snow swirls and the winds roar....... out comes the Uggs, Ski Jacket (which she does not ski) and lastly the ridiculous white fur hat (which she is quite certain with the correct shade of lipstick she resembles Lara from Dr Zhivago.....not even close). A spritz of Dolce and Gabanna Light Blue and Color Stay Lipstick in Sienna Sunset complete the costume. This of course leaves me the entire couch. Here are the highlights..........

And last but not least......
I am suspect that this is really what one should do in a snowstorm but based on the amount of patrons in this establishment either many people live within walking distance or everyone drives a truck.

A cat is a tiger that is fed by hand.

Hi....It's me.....Annie Grace......

This morning at 5:01AM I awoke with one thing in mind.....breakfast. Sheba-chicken flavored. In the last 3 weeks I now sleep next to her head which is more convenient for me when I awake from my princess slumber to attack her limbs. Preferably the hands and arms. If you are not aware of the behavior of my species you really should read up before obtaining one of me....it's all on-line. We (My species) have a manual and classes on behavior. Here is a sample

Class #207
How And When to Get Your Humans Attention
Humans often erroneously assume that there are other, more important activities than taking care of your immediate needs, such as conducting business, spending time with their families or even sleeping.
Though this is dreadfully inconvenient, you can make this work to your advantage by pestering your human at the moment it is the busiest. It is usually so flustered that it will do whatever you want it to do, just to get you out of its hair. Not coincidentally, human teenagers follow this same practice.
Here are some tried and true methods of getting your human to do what you want:
Sitting on paper: An oldie but a goodie. If a human has paper in front of it, chances are good it's something they assume is more important than you. They will often offer you a snack to lure you away. Establish your supremacy over this wood pulp product at every opportunity. This practice also works well with computer keyboards, remote controls, car keys and small children.
Waking your human at odd hours: A cat's golden time is between 3:30 and 4:30 in the morning. If you paw at your humans sleeping face during this time, you have a better than even chance that it will get up and, in an incoherent haze, do exactly what you want. You may actually have to scratch deep sleepers to get their attention remember to vary the scratch site to keep the human from getting suspicious.

"Oh Annie....please not now" she whispers while wiping the drool from her mouth and checking for blood. Yes....NOW! As the heavily slathered night eye cream from her eyes clears she sees the look in MY eyes. Yes....I will attack unless you get up. My species can change the look in our eyes in .02 seconds complete with pupil dilation. Gives sort of an evil and possessed look. The secret it to stare at the center of their nose and remain motionless.

"Annie Grace.....we have a specified time to get up and 5:01 is not the agreed upon time. It's 6:37 this month" she says while rolling back the covers (which I suspect are new since we are now in the black/white motif season). Look Lady.... this is my house, I make the rules, I decide what time we get up and most of all what time I get my measly ration of 1 Tbs of Sheba.....Chicken Flavored. As she stumbles down the stairs ......at my beck and call, dutifully rations my food and places it on one of my colorful platter (which I should tell you are espresso saucers) I saunter over to inhale it....I gasp. This is not Sheba! For weeks now she has been experimenting with other brands trying to find something else that I like....and won't make me throw up. I shun them all! All 9 of them. I sniff, pace around the saucer, stare at the wall .....for about 6.3 seconds and decide to sample this one. It's Fancy Feast Appetizers...Chicken Flavored and I love it. I really was becoming quite agitated with every morning declining yet another unknown substance being shoved in front of me. I mean really......I am not shoving onions and mushrooms in HER face every morning for breakfast.
Finally after devouring this new delight I ask why I am being terrorized with change and am told that Stop and Shop stopped carrying Sheba which has left her quite worried.
I ponder this for a moment and freeze in my tracks. I had no idea economically things were this bad. You mean that the 2 other major grocery stores that are even closer than Stop and Shop have CLOSED????? Will I be forced to eat generic food? Do I have to learn how to hunt? Does killing mice run the risk of ruining my white paws and will it require going outside? I start to break out in a sweat. I sit at her feet, watch her make coffee and ask what are we going to do?
"Oh no Annie...... both stores are still open" she tells me while watching the coffee (which she does every morning telling me that if you watch it....it brews faster. I am suspect). If they are both still open then what's the problem?
"Well Annie it's easier to park closer to the door at Stop and Shop".
With this information I turn around walk out of the room and make myself throw up. Tomorrow morning can't come fast enough for me. Perhaps at 4:51 AM. This will insure the return of my Sheba.

Hair extensions, men and babies

Hi.....it's me....Annie Grace......
I have been speechless for the last couple of days. Yes...completely speechless. There are a multitude of reasons but lets start with the top 3.
The Bachelor.
By accident we (The Warden and I) ended up watching The Bachelor. By nature neither one of us likes any reality series on TV because it is a pathetic reflection of how much people need to be humiliated...I mean....seen by complete strangers making a complete fool of themselves all while thinking they are famous for a while. Famously pathetic. And why do the masses enjoy watching these shows? Because deep down in a Freudian manner....they feel better about themselves. This show IS PATHETIC!!!! I honestly never knew so many women with the IQ of a tick (saying fruit fly would be generous) and hair extensions are all lusting after a pansy of a man (who they barely know) who happens to have money. Lets take John Edwards and Tiger out of the equation for a moment, they are extreme examples. These Ticks (the screaming conniving women) actually allow themselves to be viewed by the masses acting like complete harlots, yet they all live together and basically gulp champagne while waiting for His Majesty (the pansy) to summon them to his beck and call .....feeding them crumbs along they way (which they gobble up like Turkey Vultures) enticing them that...they must be the most perfect goddess for him. After viewing this on Monday we have now rounded up the troops and are hosting a party every Monday with Pizza and wine.....to completely mock this show. There will be no squealing, hair brushing, screeching, hair twirling, whispering catty comments or in appropriate clothing. Just good clean healthy TV bashing......with wine.

OctoMom
Yes that sick deranged woman who fancies herself as a celebrity or Angelina Jolie. She is a human puppy mill that has bore too many children to count.....and lost over 100 pounds appearing on the cover of every magazine claiming she did it naturally with no surgery. There are no urchins here so neither one of us can comment but.....stretch marks after 14 children just disappear? A bikini after 14 children? How do you have the time to work out? Granted not having a job frees up time a bit.....but don't those rug rats demand most of your day? What are you slimming down for? To meet a man? I will bet she is on eHarmony! I have written her ad for her to help with the search.
SWF-Family oriented Mother looking for a desperate wealthy man who has enough money to send 14 children to the school of their choice. Love spending time at home, sipping champagne, watching crackling fires, making large family suppers and snuggling. (That part could be one of the girls on the bachelor). Looking for companionship (I don't like to be home alone....which is why I had all of those children), someone to work-out with and must own 3 minivans or a stretch Limo, preferably a Hummer.

My last shocker....Kate (From Jon and Kate....plus 8)
She had a complete makeover! What is it with these baby busting women who are now searching for a man? Apply for The Bachelor! She got rid of her backwards mullet and has fabulous hair extensions. They really look good....where did the money come from for those? Last I saw she was crying in front of The Today Show about bills in her purse (she even pointed to her invisible purse) that she could not mail out because there was no money in the account. WOW....Santa was good to her this year. Bills are paid and hair extensions are flowing. What recession??? She was sane enough to admit (I proudly display on TV) that she did have some surgery. Looks very good but unfortunately she might have selected another professional as she would still be with Jon. Does he work? I honestly don't know but it seems as though the more children you have......the more bountiful gift you receive!

Moral of the story.
Hair extension will bring you a pansy man and 8-14 children.

Open Houses

Hi......It's me.....Annie Grace................I am quite disturbed today. I know, I know....my gentle and sunny disposition is world renowned. Let's start with yesterday, which if you do not have to live under this roof, you have absolutely no idea what a Sunday means. A day of prostitution. Open Houses run rampant throughout the neighborhoods. Let's look at the 3 prospectives on that day. The scene is as follows.

Sellers
They gleefully wake up with visions of sugar plum fairies running through their heads. This is the day! Everyone will be lined up to view their castle...I mean house. The airport is probably clogged with 11 planes filled with prospective buyers flying in from round the country...just for this special day. Counter tops and floors sparkle, the smell of Pine scented cleaner permeates the air and this day is more magical than Christmas. They admire their house as they pack up 3 children, 1 smelly dog, the pet ferret (yes....people still have them) and pile into a car giddy with anticipation to drive around for 3 hours knowing that out of 123 people they will soon be blessed with 9 offers above asking, cash and closing next week.

Buyers
They also wake up gleefully .....adorning every ounce of armor they can find. Baseball hats, sloppy clothing and their Starbucks refillable large cup to sip while they spend endless minutes examining every minuscule inch of the property so they can find every excuse not to buy a house but convincing themselves that they are making the right decision and are...ever so savvy. They go out to breakfast and examine their complete list of houses that they just "are dying to see" and fill their coffee cups. They march into every open house with a pact of NEVER EVER be nice to the host (that would be .....the Realtor), act like you are sooo smart and have no intentions of buying this house due to economic conditions which they feel have made every house overpriced. They make sure to inform EVERYONE who also is attending this fine gala that they are brilliant and know the market.

Realtors
They do not wake up gleefully. Knowing they are going to war on the streets, they dress for battle. High heels (which are wonderful when you need to put out 4 open house signs in high traffic areas), perfectly pressed clothing (which shows some sort of dignity), and a very large cup of Tea (the thought of adding Vodka flows through the brain......quickly shaken off when you realize that now is not the time for alcohol induced truths). The signs are hung by the streets with care and after since they have not been hit by a car or beeped at...they sigh. Lights are on in every room (since they do not pay that electric bill.......), flyer's are positioned on the counter, they say a blessing and a prayer, apply yet more lip gloss, open the door and smile.

I know....this drama sounds facinating....until....Sunday at 2:00PM

Sellers 2:01 PM
Return home. Buyers have tracked mud into the house and there are no offers sitting on the counter

Buyers 2:01 PM
Return home. Thankful that they did not buy a house because now they can blame economic conditions for not making a decision. Plus....they can rent and wait for interest rates to rise.

Realtors 2:40 PM
Return home. Remove dress up cloths. Realize they once again have worked an entire day without pay and pour vodka before calling the sellers.

PeeWee Herman and Mr Rogers

Hi.....it's me......Annie Grace,
I am doing a term paper Yes.....I am. (I am now pursuing a degree in...something ....at Brown University) on the evolution of growing up. It's actually a study on why the younger generation is warped.

I first started thinking about what children watch as they grow from Cherubs to Urchins to Devils and then finally to Self Centered Adults. Trust me......I can say that as I live with the most vain one of all.
So lets start from TV Land in the beginning.

Mr Rogers -1970's

Oh how all the parents of the 60's embraced his "Won't you be my neighbor" concept. These are the same parents who were at Woodstock so I suppose the LSD was still running freely through their veins.

At the beginning of each episode, Fred Rogers enters his television studio house, singing "Won't You Be My Neighbor?". He hangs his coat in a closet, puts on a cardigan zipper sweater, and removes his dress shoes to put on sneakers.
Starting in 1979, episodes were grouped into week-long series, with each series focused on a particular topic. Rogers' monologues throughout the week explore various facets of the topic, and the ongoing story from the Neighborhood of Make-Believe serves as illustration.
Rogers covered a broad range of topics over the years, and the series did not shy away from issues that other children's programming avoided. In fact, Rogers endeared himself to many when, on March 23, 1970, he dealt with the death of one of his pet goldfish.
I truly hope he flushed the goldfish.
I suspect that the parents of this generation might be a tad leery of allowing their children into his playhouse.

Then we have PeeWee Herman - 1980's
This half-hour CBS-TV Saturday morning live-action "children's show" aired from 1986 until 1991 and was enormously popular with both children and adults. The program won six Emmy Awards and a host of other accolades during its first season. Incorporating clips from vintage cartoons and old educational films, newly produced 3-D animation, hand puppets, marionettes, and a cast of endearingly eccentric characters led by a gray-suited and red-bow-tied Pee-wee Herman (Paul Reubens), Pee-wee's Playhouse might best be described as a flamboyant take off on the genre of children's educational TV--a sort of Mr. Roger's Neighborhood meets MTV.

I personally question how Mr Rogers would feel about the comparison. Especially after PeeWee's arrest.....but I will leave that alone. Just a quick note.....there is a resemblance....seriously....look.

Barney-1990's

Although the show has been criticized for its lack of educational value, Yale researchers Dorothy and Jerome Singer have concluded that episodes contain a great deal of age-appropriate educational material, calling the program a "model of what preschool television should be.
One specific criticism is:
shows do not assist children in learning to deal with negative feelings and emotions. As one commentator puts it, the real danger from Barney is denial: the refusal to recognize the existence of unpleasant realities. For along with his steady diet of giggles and unconditional love, Barney offers our children a one-dimensional world where everyone must be happy and everything must be resolved right away.Barney likes many different foods such as fruits and vegetables, but his main favorite is a peanut butter and jelly sandwich with a glass of milk.

Criticized for it's educational value??? Everyone must be happy????? Peanut butter and Jelly???? Negative feelings and emotions are not dealt with???? I am on to something here! Prozac becomes introduced into the world right about now I suspect and all children become obese. Huuummmm

Dora The Explorer-2000's

Dora, the main character, is a young girl who embarks on a trip in every episode in order to find something or help somebody. She asks the viewers at home to help her find new ways to reach places with the help of Map. She also teaches viewers Spanish, introducing them to short words and phrases.
Dora has a positive view of the characters she meets, failing even to hold a grudge against the mischievous fox Swiper, who continually attempts to steal items from her party. She acts against villains only when it seems that compromise is impossible, and even in these cases, fails to display actual
anger. She gives others a chance to try their hands at tasks even when she herself might have an easier time with them. Dora values her family, whom she loves openly, though she spends little time indoors at home with them. She tries to introduce her traditions and customs, subtly and without compulsion, to those who are not familiar with them.

Spends little time with her family????? Gets vindictive when compromise is impossible???? Teaching short words in Spanish???? I suspect this is when they changed over the ATM to selecting a language before you begin. English or Spanish. No German or French seen on the ATM screen....thanks Dora!

In conclusion....We went from creepy..to pervert....to a fat happy purple thing with no emotion to a narcissistic half speaking Spanish little girl that never displays anger. All my questions have been answered.

How much drama is involved in replacing windshield wipers

Hi....it's me....Annie Grace,
I decided to take some time off from napping to share my latest experience with our drama. I say OUR drama because anything that affects my warden ....I mean..... mother, will somehow make it's way into my world. A quiet slumber filled world which is void of drama. Mommy Dearest on the other hand can take the simplest task and basically...screw it up. The latest screw up came when I was downstairs sleeping on the hood of the car, which was freshly washed so I made sure to walk through a bit of water before jumping up on the hood which was my version of a signature or tattoo. As I walked back and forth (about 43 times...give or take) over the hood trying to figure out EXACTLY where I would sleep, I gasped. No wonder the windshield is fuzzy after a washing, the blades need to be replaced. Knowing the severity of the situation in cleanliness I quickly took my nap and hightailed it back upstairs without even passing my feeding station to see if gifts were left. Actually....that's not true, I did not SLOW DOWN when I went by as I can see out of the corner of my eye....no gifts were provided. I ran around the house...about 3 times, deposited 6 clumps of fur on the rug, and finally found The Lady in the bathroom applying yet one more coordinating color of eye shadow.
"Oh Hello Annie Grace.....finished napping?" she says while applying too much Sugar Plum.
With my important message delivered to her she immediately puts down the Lamcome Quad of eyeshadow and spritzes a lot of Dolce and Gabanna to head off to Benny's to get new wipers. If there is one thing I learned upon my arrival here 570 days ago it is that her patience level is....zero. Meaning if something needs to get done or she wants something....it means NOW.
With new wipers in hand I inspect them while she reads the directions. I gasp...yet again. They are super duper RainX Elite wipers which I suspect are for a Hummer. As I help by sitting on the stairs watching her remove the old metal wipers with relatively little bleeding I remind her that she better have the right ones because now she has no wipers.
"I know Annie...I had the guy at Benny's help me. Usually I just stand outside in the parking lot pretending to put them on while looking confused and usually somebody helps me. But since it was getting dark no one helped." she tells me while turning the new wipers around 5 times trying to figure it out which end is up.
Needless to say...after 32 minutes and reading the directions 7 times....they still are not on. The following day....they still are not on and she has wrapped tissue with tape over the ends in case she forgets and starts the wipers. I am quite sure it looks lovely while she is on the road. Next she involves 3 men at work to help install the adapters needed. All 3 men can not understand why she could not just replace the rubber piece of the blade and why she had to have these heavy duty wipers. I asked her why myself but let it go after she explained to me it's the same as an eyelash curler.
You can only replace the rubber piece of an eyelash curler a few times before the metal part is not working to it's optimum ability and you need to get a brand new one.
She actually has a point.
None of the men understood that point but they too can not get them on. Since the old ones broke when she was removing them panic sets in. Does it look like rain? Finally she figures it out after reading the direction 57 times and seeing it's going to rain on Sunday I suspect she will be driving around town with these very expensive Elite wipers which have consumed 4 hours of 4 peoples lives.

Olives are not a vegetable

Hi......It's me....Annie Grace......

I have been down this argument numerous times but can not continue to win. Olives in a martini are NOT a vegetable. We all remember the days when Ronald Regan declared ketchup as a vegetable for schools....... it's the same concept. Anyway, these are our cocktail napkins which have truly embarrassed me to no end. Back to Ronald Regan and the ketchup issue. Tomatoes are a FRUIT!!! Seriously.

The confusion about 'fruit' and 'vegetable' arises because of the differences in usage between scientists and cooks. Scientifically speaking, a tomato is definitely a fruit. True fruits are developed from the ovary in the base of the flower, and contain the seeds of the plant (though cultivated forms may be seedless). Blueberries, raspberries, and oranges are true fruits, and so are many kinds of nut. Some plants have a soft part which supports the seeds and is also called a 'fruit', though it is not developed from the ovary: the strawberry is an example. As far as cooking is concerned, some things which are strictly fruits may be called 'vegetables' because they are used in savoury rather than sweet cooking. The tomato, though technically a fruit, is often used as a vegetable, and a bean pod is also technically a fruit. The term 'vegetable' is more generally used of other edible parts of plants, such as cabbage leaves, celery stalks, and potato tubers, which are not strictly the fruit of the plant from which they come. Occasionally the term 'fruit' may be used to refer to a part of a plant which is not a fruit, but which is used in sweet cooking: rhubarb, for example. So a tomato is the fruit of the tomato plant, but can be used as a vegetable in cooking.

Just so you know....this same site discusses Banana's as an herb as well as a fruit. WHO CARES?????

Here are a list of all the other things that should be followed by....WHO CARES?????

1. 4 people in this state have been ticketed for texting in the last couple of months.

2. Carlie Sheen was arrested on Christmas Day.

3. There will be a third outbreak of Swine Flue in the spring. (Says who????? God?)

4. It's cold in Florida. (How does one control the weather? It is what it is....)

5. Airports have body scanners. (Seriously??? That will stop everything bad from happening.)

6. People who post comments on News sites ......on-line. Get a life!

7. Kate....from Jon and Kate plus 8.....her new hair style. Take care of your kids please....

8. Brad and Angelina's pregnancy......I give you both 3 more years together

9. Jay and Conan's battle..... We are sound asleep by 11. Do they really say that much fascinating?

10. Finally.....your political or religious views.....and all the places you traveled. You are no more right or better than my insane neighbor....the one I blow our leaves into their yard

While many egos will be shattered......It's all true.....and olives are not a vegetable.

Tween Cherubs

Hello.....it's me....Annie Grace....

Here are The Cherubs with The Lady/My Keeper/My Headache. Only now they are Tween Cherubs. What were we called when we were that age? Tweens did not exist in Websters Dictionary back then.... so what were we? We had no cells, iPods, iPhone, gameboy,Wii or even Ugg's. (As you can imagine Mommy Dearest has a blank look on her face and a look of horror comes over her face....YES Mommy.....NO Uggs! Does she not remember or is her brain capacity really that superficial) As a teen the electronics today must be purely exhausting. These wonderful Tween Cherubs still manage to tolerate her after all these years. The drama, the immaturity, the shallowness, the loudness and probably what completes the tolerance.....the gifts. The gifts are a bribe to keep them young, in awe of her and most of all....continue to call her The Queen. I personally suspect brainwashing is involved but The Cleavers (Ward and June) just roll their eyes and sample new cocktails knowing she will be out the door in 24 hours limiting her influence to ...... reversible. I should point out one fact I know....The Rock Star....seen here on
Christmas Day is............... her influence is quite.....irreversible!

Anyway.....all of these pictures are called Spamalots (obnoxious photos one takes of themselves at a party by pointing a camera at themselves. The trick is to get it centered and at that time, no one realizes the angle is quite unflattering). So, here we have Tweens and two sisters who really still think they are still teenagers......and me.....left at home....alone. So these tweens give Mommy Dearest a coffee mug which leads me to believe that in some way they are still brainwashed. Here is the mug which has been clutched in her hands every morning.

New Years Resolutions

Hi.....it's me....Annie Grace.....

I have been contemplating my existence and purpose in life this morning.....all while resting. My main role here is to keep things under control, wake my sleeping Lady at 6:31 AM, keep her in shape by running around collecting my clumps of fur, continue to stimulate the economy by not having interest in any toy she buys me (this way she continues to buy more), and to point out her flaws daily which also helps with the excessive amount of make-up she experiments with. But....since New Years Resolutions are ridiculous and everybody will ask what yours are (which in really NONE of their business) I feel the need to make some up which will then help validate theirs. So.....we both made up ours this morning over Iams Hairball Reducer .....Chicken Flavored.

Annie Grace's Resolutions

1. I will try to eat my food without spilling it all over the floor....... at least once a week.

2. When I want to play/attack Mommy Dearest at 2 AM...... I will not touch her face

3. I will pretend that I am a normal cat and feign interest in one toy.

4. I have no weight issues so..... I will ask for more treats and increase my nip rations
5. I don't have a career so...... I will count my blessings that I don't
6. I will not become agitated when the neighbors mangy feline enters the perimeter lines of my land......I will just shoot him.....to eliminate my stress
7. If I need to sleep in the linen closet, after dumping the sheets on the floor.... I will let her know when I am done so she can put them back
8. I will not sleep on the dining room table when she is not looking......as much
9. Next year...when the Christmas Tree goes up....I will only drink the water in the stand once a day
10. Next year......I will NOT make any resolutions and glare at anyone that asks what they are
Mommy Dearest's Resolutions
(please...keep in mind she wrote these while watching The Today Show which has been discussing the real estate market dramatically turning around this year)
1. No more inexpensive wines. Must be 89 points or above.
2. Pick one hair color instead of experimenting each time....stop thinking there is a better one
3. Find Annie Grace the perfect toy
4. Find myself the most perfect black boots (after I find Annie her toy)
5. Find a fabulous Waterproof eyeliner
6. Ignore Annie Grace's fur clumps
7. Figure out how to work the remote controls and the iPod
8. Not to kick or yell at the dryer when jeans are a tad too tight. Realize it's because they have a design flaw....the dryer is not at fault
9. Not to blow my leaves on the neighbors property
10. Next Year....have more resolutions with substance
Happy New Year!

New Years Eve

Hi.......it's me......Annie Grace,

Here I am on the Eve of a New Year and already I can tell this year will be exhausting. It starts right now a voice I hear from below.

"Oh Annie.... Annie Grace....where are you?"

Where am I? It's 5:30 PM and I am sleeping in designated spot #94...... the 4th shelve of the linen closet. Does the sheets on the floor give you a clue Lady??? I moved them all out to get a better vantage point further back.

"Annie? Are you up there?"

I move back into the closet praying for a miracle so I continue my 6 hour slumber.

"Oh Annie....there you are! Do you want to come downstairs and watch me make a sauce with meatballs?" she says while sticking her face in the closet.

No.....I do not.

BUT.......I gather myself, feign interest in seeing her upon my awakening and saunter downstairs with her like a broken child. First of all I should tell you.....I will not see one minuscule tablespoon of meatball or sauce and second I am astounded of what attire she has managed to put together while I slept. As I make my way toward my feeding station (which I notice has a new dish....probably to match the other one so everything is just PERFECT) she is still chattering to me about her new eyeliner and asking me if she needs more. Any more of that stuff and you will look like a two bit hooker I tell her. Happily she continues making sauce all while admiring her reflection in the window.

"Really Annie.....I don't think it looks too heavy at all. In fact it is quite glamorous." she tells me. I take one paw and scratch behind my ear, clean the other paw and just stare at her.

"Well Annie maybe it's very dramatic but after all.....it's New Years Eve!" I am informed all while still staring at her. I slowly turn back around and scope out the snowfall from today from the front window. Are you going to shovel Mommy Dearest?

"No Annie....I am hoping it will melt by tomorrow and I don't want to smudge my new Eyeliner in Hocus Pocus (Black with shimmering flecks of green......in case you were not aware) with any sort of a sweat."

Smart thinking Mommy Dearest....no need to worry about the mailman, milkman or guests!

As we close another decade and I suffer through another year of madness filled with potions, lotion (aka.... GNP - Gorgeous Nanci Product), minuscule rations of Sheba and a basket full of 34 toys which I still will have no interest in I just want to wish everyone a Happy New Year!

Love,

Annie Grace

Merry Christmas

Hi.......it's me....Annie Grace.....
Merry Christmas Everyone! This is me.....pathetically posing under the tree. The tree which is filled with glittery gaudy ornaments, some non-Christmas appropriate, some just gaudy and most immature! Just a moment of sympathy for my master and keeper to keep her FAR away for a couple of hours. First let me say.....she is home and I am so happy....all restraint went array which made me quite affectionate. I tried everything to restrain but quite frankly she left me alone overnight (please feel free to call DCYF) while she went to visit my "Family" to include neurotic cousin Manny (the Pound Cat, no papers, no pedigree, no pure breed). Why I can't go is beyond me but she mumbles something about cats traveling is not normal. Anyway... I digress. While she is now trying on 6 different varieties of lip gloss which I suspect are new.......I wanted to take a moment and say Merry Christmas!
Love,
Annie Grace Millin

Our Christmas Card

Hi...... it's me....Annie Grace.....
I have just awoke from my daily 6 hour nap and after sauntering downstairs, doing a perimeter check around the house, inspecting the tree to make sure I still have room to sleep under it and depositing large clumps of fur around the house.....I spot a bunch of Christmas cards that I have yet to inspect and chew on. As I read each and every one I scratch my head and lick my left paw in complete confusion. Are we in a recession? Does mail now cost as much as 1/2 of my Sheba minuscule portion of food? Did everyone travel this year and all the children are accelerating in after school sports? Are all people just "HAPPY AS A CLAM?" Perhaps even Tiger Woods is just embracing the fabulous changes in life? As the cloud of Dolce and Gabanna Light Blue crossed in front of me and the grand entrance of Mommy Dearest blocks my vision, I glance up and just gasp...... what on earth is she wearing?
"Oh Hello Annie...how was your 6 hour nap? And how do I look?" she says while getting a tad close to my face. Matter of fact her lip gloss is blinding me and I suspect it is new. Today's outfit consists of the high Swell UGGs in Brunswick Brown (absolutely adorable but....I thought we were still in a recession) and once again her Skinny Jeans which I am suspect are not doing their job, and a white sweater which is fur trimmed and conveniently matches that STUPID white fur hat. Just where was she? Skiing in Aspen or shooting a new movie with George in Switzerland? Perhaps running yet another fantasy life in her head when she dressed? I vote for the latter!
Anyway.....I digress....the Christmas cards! I wrote one myself and want to share it.

Happy Holidays!
Our Clooney Family here has had a joyous year indeed. We started the year with a bang and refused to let our foreclosure on January 2nd dampen our spirits. We moved all of our belongings to our home on Lake Como while renting a little something here. We feel this has made our family unit sooooo much stronger. We managed to do some extensive traveling which the most memorable was to West Greenwich and due to the difficulty in getting there we thought the scenery was gorgeous and cherished every moment. Mystic, CT was quite lovely and even though Little George Jr broke into one of the yachts which was privately owned....we applaud his determination and curiosity. No charges were filed. Bravo Little George! Little George has yet to hear an acceptance on any of the 51 colleges he applied to but we continue to tell everyone that we are hopeful that they will not really be focusing on his grades and sure he will be accepted based on the joy he brings to all.
Our middle child Claire has now been settling in nicely after a small stint in the Juvenile Training Center. She LOVES being back home and has promised us to refrain from all future drug use. We are sooooo proud of her! We even love her new tattoos, which are so colorful and will blend in nicely with her up and coming wedding dress. The blessed nuptials will take place just days after her 16th birthday. We have not met the groom yet since he will be released in the next month or so. (His good behavior has made this possible early! Yeah!)
Our youngest Johnny has really been a good sport through this year. He did not make the basketball, football, squash, tennis or golf teams this year but still tried his hardest. His reading level has been upgraded to "fair" which has opened up new doors for him! He now knows how to read the menu at Wendy's! The stolen car charges have been buried thanks to a big payoff to the owner of the car who so graciously agreed that Johnny accidental took the car thinking it was ours.
George and Nanci continue to count their blessings and feel the bliss of 19 years of marriage are the rock that keeps the family successful and stable. Although George is still collecting unemployment ....thanks to the extended benefits the government keeps offering we are quite certain that he will continue to collect for another 3 years which leaves plenty of time for fishing and visiting with "the boys" at Dunkin Donuts. We continue to cherish his coffee buddies.
Nanci has been tackling the declining real estate market with full gusto! She continues to sit at many open houses with a smile and although the foreclosures and short sales dominate she is optimistic that it will all turn around real soon!
Annie Grace has settled in nicely since her arrival 1 1/2 years ago and manages to sleep 21.5 hours a day all while managing to ignore all of us of the remaining 2.5 hours a day only demanding attention 1 hour each day. We are quite sure she is happy.
We have soooo many blessings we can not even count them. We hope your family is as functional and happy as ours. If yours is not...... Sorry.
Love,
George, Nanci, Little George, Claire, Johnny and Annie Grace

Sleeping habits #301

Hi....it's me.......Annie Grace.....

Let's just say this day has been quite unsettling. I awoke....at 6:50 AM with much to my shock and dismay, realized I was minutes behind my appointed schedule. Earlier at 1:52 AM I sprung up from my nocturnal slumber just knowing that sleeping UNDER the covers might be a new and more comfortable mode of sleeping so........diligently she complied with my wishes and promptly lifted up the covers and I slipped under to sleep. After 1 hour and 3 minutes I realized that it really wasn't working and I was having horrible nightmares that Mommy Dearest would suffocate me due to the late night sleep position adjustment so I crawled over her and came back out to sleep on my fleece at her feet. I suspect that The Lady has no idea of the importance of sleeping adjustments throughout the evening.......(and day, for that matter) so I plan for the next 6 days to completely educate her, giving her a more rounded knowledgeable concept of A CAT'S NAP. Like everything in life.....learning can be hard and with enough practice one WILL get it! But anyway....I digress. I awoke to see snow. Yes, a whole bunch of beautiful snow which i can see from every window and door. 20.3 inches to be exact.
Knowing the importance of a shoveled walkway for The Milkman, Mailman and the really cute UPS man ......I jumped on her head.....3 times. Get up! It's time to shovel! Let's go!
She promptly obeys my commands and diligently rations my 1 measly Tablespoon of Sheba Chicken Flavor before putting on The White North Face Ski jacket (which.....she does not ski), the ski mittens and lastly....the white fur hat (which she fancies because she feels that when wearing it she belongs in the movie Dr Zhivago). Armed with a shovel, I push her out the door and quickly race to the front storm door to sit and supervise. Periodically I wave as she looks up from the walkway with the snow still coming down. Keep going Mommy Dearest! You are doing fabulous. I see a flicker of irritation in her eyes but I am not sure if it's me creating this or the snow blowers on either side of her that make no attempt to help her. I suspect it's me.
What pleases me the most is once again.....when she flips off the plow that blocked in the freshly shoveled front walkway. "Making friends in town!!!" I yell.
It's a winter wonderland here.

My Holiday Feeding Station

Hi.......it's me....Annie Grace......

As I awoke this morning I felt the impending sense of doom. Life has been running quite smoothly for me over the last couple of weeks with breakfast promptly served at 6:22 AM (with me still being the natural alarm clock and finding that the "light" biting on the limbs works best), with the real estate market picking up this has left me alone for the day to sleep while she peddles her wares and all in all......no drama. UNTIL, this morning. I just knew the holiday spirit was bound to impact my life eventually and as I slunk into the kitchen to check out what morsels are at my station...... I froze. There is a HUGE paw stocking tacked over my dishes. My perfect pink nose twitched with irritation and then my nose detected a billowing cloud of Dolce and Gabanna Light Blue....... she is standing behind me and smiling with a rather atrocious shade of mauve on her lips.

"Oh Annie....don't you love your stocking!" she says all while glancing at herself in the mirror which I assume was to check out this rather unbecoming shade of lipstick which she has informed me is #701 or appropriately named WINED UP. I stare up to the ceiling first looking for Divine intervention and second to collect my thoughts and third to telepathically try to remove myself from this twinkling grossly over sparkled house, possible back to Poland. I count to 11, open my eyes and see that I am still here and THAT THING is still over my dishes. As I saunter over to get a measly morsel of Iaams Chicken Flavor she is following me still talking. I put in my invisible ear plugs and eat. I can't hear most of what she is saying but the two pieces of information I do gather is that she is not working until noon today so we positively MUST spend some time together this morning and also that The Blessed Event is next week. I plot how I can go off after I eat, curl up on the couch with 1 paw staged in the air and all my fur fluffed up to the hilt which will make her tip toe around me as to not disturb me. As for The Blessed Event.....it is out of my control and soon I will be under siege with many screeching women who seek to win The Crown. Perhaps I will throw up later. God Save the Queen!

Hi...it's me.....Annie Grace....
I have finally retrieved the computer from her clutches. My Lady and Keeper has proclaimed this computer as a working tool. This simply has no bearing on my life or needs but being a prisoner held in captivity I have no say. The Holidays are approaching and I must show the world I am alive and well. I have survived the day known as Thanksgiving which has been quite nerve wracking.... first the Turkey which thawed in the refrigerator for 4 days made my mental well-being .....unstable.....I could smell it from the closet when the door was opened! Then the whole family invaded my dwelling for the entire day...chomping on turkey .......giving me none. Not one minuscule morsel. Selfish family indeed. I managed to survive the onslaught of Millin Family including The Rock Star who managed to sneak in and due to the lack of seating.....sat on the trash can. I was quite embarrassed to put out my recyclables this week as the amount of wine bottles at the curb...... exceeded my neighbors. Anyway...... I digress. So, here I sit reflecting on yet my second Holiday Season here and as I contemplate it.....I notice my Keeper start bringing up boxes of sparkling things. I gasp. Here it comes.... Christmas decorations. Slowly I put one paw over both eyes and skulk down trying to be invisible. Please... oh ...please do not make me part of a "family decorating party".
"Oh Annie...how would you like me to light a fire and we can decorate?" Mommy Dearest says. I slowly slide behind the ottoman.
"Annie Grace? Are you there?" she is shrieking.
I peak around the corner and gasp yet again. Is that metallic purple liquid eyeliner you are wearing I ask this annoying creature.
"Yes Annie. Don't you love it?!!"
I would love it more if you were a character in Star Wars.
The fire gets lit, the boxes continue to arrive, the decorations are displayed (with me diligently nodding that "they are PERFECT there"), Christmas Carols are blaring, eggnog is just out of my reach, her voice with every song is grating on my nerves, and the room becomes alive with every neon sparkle which will just impede my sleeping habits.
The boxes are empty and every symbol of Angels, Stars, Christmas Trees, Sparkling Reindeer's, and all other tacky decor has been plastered all over the house. I am blind with glitter...
Happy Holidays!

Tip #1

Hi.....it's me....Annie Grace,
I thought I should share this little tip I just discovered.
If you are not being served your 1 Tablespoon of Sheba Chicken flavor food at the designated time of 6:30 AM and the affectionate "love bites" on a humans arm are not working as the arms magically disappear under the covers I have a solution. (Just so you know.....I have discovered as well that "love bites" on The Lady's nose are not acceptable. Although.....after screaming "NO Annie...not the face!!" she does get up out of bed to examine her face looking for damage.)
My solution is quite simple and occurred by accident. IF you have tried every non-violent way of awaking the hand that feeds you simply lay very close to her and stretch out like you are going back to sleep, lay still for....about 10 minutes.......then quickly sit up like you just remembered you forgot to clean 1 centimeter of your back left leg, contort your body.....showing that it is VERY important to get this spot....... start cleaning this section all while sticking your right rear leg out very very straight which conveniently this leg is now heading toward her face. Now pretend that you are so intent on this cleaning that you have absolutely NO idea your right rear paw is now firmly planted in her face. Not realizing this leverage, which is aiding in the cleaning making it easier to get to the most difficult spot, is now pushing the right paw even harder into her face until you hear her voice. "Annie, stop it! Do you know where this paw has been?"
Do I know where my paw has been???? Of course I do....... it's my paw! Seriously......I think I know exactly where my feet are at all times. She is now peering at me as I continue to sit in my contoured position with my left leg pointed up toward the sky, I open my eyes very wide and feign a look of innocence. Can I have my Sheba now?
Mission accomplished.

A fine family story in America

Hi.....it's me............Annie Grace............
I am sharing this picture and article from the paper today. Now, I am quite aware that my journalistic skills are envied by many and my sarcastic nature duplicated by none but THIS is classic! I have re-read this 10 times just to make sure that
# 1 It's real
#2 It was written
#3 People REALLY said those things
#4 It's ok for a 15 year old BOY to have a child with a 25 year old woman

PROVIDENCE –– Five of the six women who bore George Holland’s children told The Journal that he was a good person and not the violent man portrayed by the woman accused of murdering him on Saturday.
Shanna Rufo, 39, who is also a mother of one of Holland’s children, is charged with stabbing him to death at the apartment he shares with his current girlfriend. Rufo’s family had told The Journal that Rufo said Holland had assaulted her and the girlfriend during an argument. The family also said Holland had a history of beating Rufo and the other mothers of his children.
On Wednesday afternoon, the five other mothers and Holland’s relatives gathered at an apartment on Hymer Street to talk about his life. They said Holland had been characterized unfairly in The Journal as an abuser.
There was also love there,” said Candace Smith, a niece. “He took care of his children. He spent time with them. The mothers [of his children] put aside all of their differences, and the kids spent time with all of their mothers.”
Leihani Rose — who has three children with Holland — and Silvia Vides, Melissa DeCosta, Keiojfa Hie and Jessenia Delossantos –– each with one child from Holland –– said that he made them all a family. They hugged each other and said in unison, “We love our baby mamas!”
He supported them by dealing drugs, his family said –– the best he could do because he was a high-school dropout and had so many children, so quickly.
“It bothered us, but he was trying to turn his life around,” said Leah Seton, Holland’s oldest sister. “But with limited education, and kid after kid after kid, it was easier to do what he did.”
The 29-year-old man left behind eight children, between the ages of 4 and 13. The oldest was his son with Rufo. The boy is now living with Holland’s family, while Rufo is being held at the Adult Correctional Institutions on a charge of murder.
Holland once had a promising athletic career. He was in his early teens when he was making a name for himself as a basketball player at the Davey Lopes Recreation Center.
When he was 15, he had his first child, with Rufo. She was 25.
Holland dropped out of school, but his parents said they took him to the Community College of Rhode Island for his GED. “They told us he could use the college as a stepping stone,” his mother, Diane Holland, said. “But he got sidetracked.”
“He had a baby,” added his father, Vincent Clement.
As Holland had other children with other women, he painted houses and was also dealing drugs, his parents said. He could make money that way to help support his eight children, their mothers and his family –– and because his criminal record and lack of an education made it hard for him to find work, said Clement.
He paid the rent on their apartments, and got cable TV, a flat-screen television, new sneakers and new clothes for his mother. “He always got me what I needed,” she said.
He had money for anyone who needed help, they said. “He wasn’t no bad man. He took care of all of us,” DeCosta said.
However, Holland was also arrested more than two dozen times, including several times for assaulting the women in his life. Two weeks after their son’s birth, Rufo got a restraining order against Holland, saying he was involved with drugs and that she was afraid he would shoot her and hurt their child. The order was eventually dropped, and other charges of domestic assault and no-contact orders were later dismissed.
Although Holland had been arrested for assaulting her, Rose said that she never wanted to press charges against him. “Me and George would be having disputes in our relationship, just arguing. We’d go out to the club, get drunk, get fighting,” she said. “I didn’t call the cops. It was the neighbors.”
It's perfectly normal!” Delossantos added vehemently. “Everybody goes through it.”
His mother saw how the stress of many relationships was wearing on him. “My son was not a person who liked a lot of drama,” said Holland. “His girlfriend would be in the background yelling and screaming.”
His death was preceded by an argument involving his current girlfriend and two mothers of his children.
Holland had left Rose’s three children with his girlfriend, Vanessa Tapia, at their residence on Ridgeway Street. On Saturday morning, Holland went out to get a haircut for rapper Jay-Z’s concert at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center.
While he was gone, Tapia called Rose and accused her of having an affair with Holland. Rose confirmed it — she said she continued her 10-year relationship with Holland even after he moved on to Tapia, her best friend, several years ago –– and that started several hours of vicious phone conversations between the two women.
Rose said she sent a text message to Holland to tell him to get the children. Rufo’s family said that Tapia called Rufo for help.
Holland arrived at the house sometime late Saturday morning or early noon. The police say that Rufo stabbed Holland during a heated argument.
Three of Holland’s children were in the house when he was killed. Rose said her 6-year-old daughter told her that Holland held her as he lay dying.
“I don’t know where to go from here, what to do for these kids, with the tragedy they had to see,” Rose said.

Skinny Jeans

Hi....it's me Annie Grace......

With Mommy Dearest feeling better my life is finally back to normal...as much as it can be. This morning as she is rummaging through the abyss of the closet looking for sox's (they are hidden during summer) screaming at no one in particular "I hate the end of summer!!!!!". As she is screeching from the back of the closet I quickly saunter away only to stop in my tracks as she emerges with a basket of sox's, hair standing on end and a rather wild scary look in her eyes. I turn, freeze, fix my eyes on her, calmly sit, place both paws in front of me and wait. At this point I mentally removing myself from her irrational tantrum which is about to occur from a wardrobe change from flip flops and short skirts to boots and sweaters.

"Oh Annie, I can't find ANYTHING to wear!" she says with a tear in her eye.

I blink three times and realize I am still here. The mental telepathy did not work.

I ignore her for....about an hour.....all while pretending I am a NCIS Agent by skulking around the house looking for varies clues as to where by favorite ball went. Being so self absorbed she has no idea of the severity of a lost ball and makes no attempt to help me. After looking in every spot I can possible get into and getting every door I can rattle to open I now turn my attention to the amount of hair clumps I have brilliantly deposited in every crevice. They are simply EVERYWHERE, and she has no idea. Seriously. I make a mental note to remind her of the clumps hidden from view the next time she gets clingy and wants me to sit with her, I will be promptly flung from her clutches and the vacuum will be roaring with a vengeance. But anyway....I digress.

She emerges from around the corner, eyes dried from tears, 3 coordinating shades of purple shadow and eyeliner heavily applied with her hair teased up toward the moon. Are those new jeans? I do not remember them. Is our budget off track again? Never EVER directly ask is she bought something, she will just ignore the question and dance around the word "purchased", never admitting to it. I just stare at her until she looks at me.

"Oh Annie, do these jeans look good on me?" I sigh as she asks the dreaded question.

Yes Mommy Dearest. Are they new this season?

"Not really "new" Annie. I got them a while ago, they are SKINNY jeans. How do they look?" she says while twirling around in front of me. Twirling around is not a good idea as she stumbles. Skinny jeans? What are the other options? Fat Jeans? Plump Jeans? Overweight Jeans? Big Butt Jeans? How on earth can a pair of Jeans make you skinny? Most of all what daft person would actually believe that? As she is happily twirling through the house sending yet more hair clumps under the furniture I make one statement to her.

I hope you did not pay full price!
